This family tree database includes two McIntosh family lines:

  1. The blood descendents of Chief William McIntosh Jr.

  2. The adopted descendants Chief William McIntosh Jr. from Artuami Ccache Armstrong.

The relationship with which Artuami Cache Armstrong's descendants have been represented as blood descendants of Chief William McIntosh Jr. has been held in error by both the descendants of Artuami and the descendants of Chief William McIntosh Jr. Artuami was not the son of Chief William McIntosh Jr.; he was the adopted son of Chief William McIntosh Jr. and Susannah. Artuami and his wife died while immigrating to the western Creek nation leaving three boys orphaned, Seleetka, Sapaja, and Tadake. I have included a descendant list of Artuami as far down as I am aware of to date. Please review it, comment on it, but please do not include the listed names as being a blood relation to Chief William McIntosh Jr. The Chronicles of Oklahoma published in 1932 depicts Sapaia "Roley McIntosh," the son of Artuami Cache, as the Chief Roderick "Roley" McIntosh (1828 - 1859.) Sapaja "Roley McIntosh" was never Principle Chief, but was Second Chief under Isparhechar (1895 - 1899.) What is even more confusing, after Sapaja's parents (Artuami and Katie) died, Chief William McIntosh's half brother Roley McIntosh who married the Chief's widow, Susannah, adopted Sapaja and his two brothers and gave the three boys his last name, McIntosh, and also called Sapaja "Roley". It is this "Roley McIntosh" which some have confused with the Chief's half brother Roley McIntosh.

Once the Family Tree opens up, the far left button of the header is a drop down menu, from it you may select either the McIntosh tree or the Armstrong tree.
